Description
One line
Warigami is a real-time strategy game where every soldier is a sheet of paper, every base is a papercraft, and the weather is made of ink.
One paragraph
Warigami is a classic base-building RTS folded out of paper. Command your Prime, fold an army of 31 origami units across two provinces — the white-sheet Pious and the tar-soaked Profane — gather Paper, Pencilcore and Pitch, refine Parchment, and keep your Pushers hauling so the fold never stops. Traveling Ink Storms melt anything caught in the open, so you read the forecast, move your folds, or have your Prophets pray the plume onto the enemy. Play the voiced tutorial, skirmish against the AI, take on up to five friends over LAN, or build your own maps and trigger-scripted scenarios in the Map Builder that ships with the game. Free to play in the browser or on Windows.
One page
The fold. Nothing in Warigami is built; it is folded. Your Prime — the general you can never replace — and your Pupils take a sheet and crease it into a Picker, a Pikeman, a Paladin, in front of you and in real time. Un-fold a unit and half the sheet comes back. Every building is a papercraft too, and the Palasade wall goes up as one drawn stroke.
The economy. Three raw resources — Paper from Pylons, Pencilcore from pits, Pitch from pools — feed a Paper Press that refines Parchment. Materials live in real buildings, and Pushers haul them where the work is. Cut a supply line and the fold slows; take the pantry and the enemy starves.
The weather. Every map has an Ink Storm on a forecast track you can see before it arrives. Paper melts in the rain. A Prism, worshipped by Prophets, can stop the plume, hurry it, point it, or grow it. The best trade in the game is the enemy army in the open with the storm turning their way.
Two provinces. The Pious fight in ordered lines behind Paladins, burn the approach with Pyros, and fly an Air Corps of Planes, Pelicans and Paratroopers from the Port. The Profane bleed and poison with Prowlers, Plaguebearers and Piercers, snipe with Poachers, plant Python Pits, and send Proxies — walking bombs — wherever the line is thinnest. Each province has its own herald calling the battle.
The builder. The Map Builder ships with the game and is the tool the campaign is made with: lattice terrain with rivers, cliffs, ramps and bridges; solid obstacles; per-map costs and stats; alliances; and a trigger system written in plain sentences, with timers, counters, zones and per-player loops. Maps are Melee (stock rules) or Use Map Settings (their own), and chain into campaigns with briefings.
The tech. Warigami runs on a custom TypeScript engine over Three.js and WebGL 2, with a deterministic lockstep simulation for LAN play and reconnect recovery. It ships in Electron for Windows and runs unchanged in a browser. No accounts, no telemetry, no ads.
Streamers and content creators
Yes. You may record, stream, screenshot and publish videos of Warigami, including on monetised channels, without asking. You may use the game's name, logo and screenshots to talk about it. Please don't imply we endorse your content, and please don't re-host the game files themselves — link to this site instead. The full terms are in the Terms of Use.
Naming
It's Warigami, one word, capital W. The two factions are the Pious (⛩) and the Profane (冥), called provinces. Units are folded, not built or trained. The weather is the Ink Storm, or a plume.
