Controls Guide
Warigami uses standard RTS controls: pan with WASD or the arrow keys, select with the mouse, and command everything through the context command card.
Warigami plays like a classic real-time strategy game: move the camera, select your folds, and issue orders through the command card at the bottom of the screen. Most actions show a single-letter hotkey on their card button — press it or click it.
Camera
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Pan | W A S D or the Arrow Keys, push the cursor to the screen edge, or hold the Middle Mouse Button and drag |
| Zoom in / out | Mouse Wheel |
| Center on your base | Space (jumps to your Prime instead if it is under attack) |
| Fullscreen / window | F11 or Alt + Enter (Windows build) |
Selection
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Select | Left Click |
| Add to selection | Shift + Left Click |
| Box select | Left Click + Drag |
| Clear selection / back out | Esc |
Battle Groups
Save a group of units and recall it instantly.
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Assign a group | Ctrl + 3-9 with units selected |
| Select a group | press its number (1-9) |
| Center on a group | double-tap its number |
Two groups are fixed: 1 is always your Prime and 2 is always every Pupil you have (the ones not garrisoned). A quick tap of 1 jumps to your commander; 2 grabs your builders.
Orders
Most orders are right-click or a card button.
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Move / gather / attack | Right Click (context-sensitive: move to ground, gather a resource node, attack an enemy, or resume building a structure) |
| Attack-move | T, then click — march there and fight anything met on the way |
| Patrol | L, then click — walk there and back under arms until a new order |
| Hold position | H for soldiers, Y for a worker-only selection |
| Un-fold | U — take the selected unit or building apart for half its materials back |
| Stop | X |
| Back out of a menu or targeting mode | Esc (or B to step back one card page) |
| Open a card action | click the button or press the letter shown on it |
The command card is contextual — selecting a folder shows folding options, selecting a Patternworks shows its kits, and so on. Abilities (like the Prime’s Inspire or a Plaguebearer’s Pestilence) and production options all appear there with their own hotkeys.
Building & Production
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Open the Fold (build) menu | F with a folder selected |
| Place a building | Left Click on the map (a green ghost previews its footprint) |
| Queue several placements | hold Shift while placing |
| Draw a wall | with a Palasade selected for placement, click and drag — the whole run rises along the line, corners and all |
| Rotate while placing | R — turns a Palasade slab or Portcullis gate |
| Work a gate | select a Portcullis: Q Auto winch, E Wind open, R Drop shut |
| Queue a unit, research, or upgrade | click its card button or press its hotkey |
| Cancel from a queue | Right Click the queue chip |
| Set a rally point | Right Click with a production building selected |
When you place a Pylon Plantation, the green ghost shows the full 3x3 plot it will claim, not just the sprinkler post at its center.
Other
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Report a bug or idea | Ctrl + B (opens the in-game feedback form) |
| Pause menu | Esc with nothing selected and no menu open |
Tips
- Use battle groups constantly. Tap 1 to snap to your Prime, 2 for every Pupil, and bind your army to 3 and your Pushers to 4.
- Attack-move (T) is how an army travels through hostile ground. Plain right-click walks past enemies; attack-move fights them.
- Double-tap a group number to center the camera on it.
- Right-click is smart — it gathers, attacks, or resumes a build depending on what you click, so you rarely need a separate command.
- Esc is your escape hatch: it backs out of placement, targeting, and menus one step at a time before opening the pause menu.
