Plane

The Plane is a folded paper flier — fast, long-ranged, and able to strike both air and ground. It ignores terrain entirely and holds altitude over cliffs, water, and mountains. Rather than sitting still to attack, the Plane circles its target, orbiting it while it strafes in two-shot bursts, which keeps it moving and hard to pin. Planes are built at a Port and take one of that Port’s aircraft slots.

The Plane carries 6 attack runs. Once those are spent it must fly back to a Port to reload before it can fire again. It also has limited air time: like every aircraft it burns fuel as it flies, so it must return to a Port to refuel as well as reload — see the Port. A Plane that cannot reach a Port before its tank runs dry will crash. Like the other advanced folds, the Plane draws on Parchment, so you need a refined-goods economy — a Scriptorium or Printworks stocking Parchment, delivered by Pushers — to field one.

Strategy

Planes are your reach and your mobility. Their long range and flight let them strike resource lines, pick off workers, and answer enemy aircraft from a safe distance — and because they hit ground too, they double as harassment. Watch your attack runs and your fuel: a Plane out of runs is a sitting target, and one out of fuel crashes outright, so pull it home to reload and refuel before the tank runs dry — and keep a Port near enough that it can make the trip. Keep them clear of dedicated anti-air like the Plasma Pulse Projector, which will shred them, and screen them with ground-capable fliers or your own Plasma cover.
