What is Warigami?

Warigami is a real-time strategy game where you command armies of origami warriors on a tabletop battlefield. You fold paper into units and buildings, gather stationery-themed resources, weather traveling storms, and outmaneuver your opponents.

What platforms will Warigami be available on?

Warigami is being developed for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux). Console versions may be considered after the PC release.

Is Warigami free to play?

Pricing has not been finalized. The current alpha is free for testers.

Why “Warigami”?

The name is a portmanteau of “War” and “Origami” — reflecting the game’s core concept of paper warfare.

Gameplay

How is Warigami different from other RTS games?

Warigami’s identity is its paper-and-stationery world: you literally fold every unit and building from paper, your economy runs on Paper, Pencilcore, and Pitch, and traveling storms reshape each battle. Specialist units bring tactical wrinkles you won’t find elsewhere — Proxies are walking bombs you detonate in a crowd, Plaguebearers spread a creeping corruption, and the Prophet’s Prism lets you conjure weather as a weapon.

Can I play against AI?

Yes. The AI runs a full economy and build order, defends its base, regroups after fights, and can be set to different difficulties. You can also set AI opponents on any team slot in a multiplayer lobby.

Is there multiplayer?

Yes — LAN multiplayer is in the game now. Up to six players can play across as many as twelve teams in free-for-all, team, or 2-vs-1 matches, with shared vision and shared victory for allies. Host a game and others join from the lobby browser or by game code. Online play over the internet is planned for a later release. See Multiplayer for details.

Can I make my own maps?

Yes. Warigami includes a full Map Editor for building custom maps, a trigger system for scripting scenarios, and a campaign designer for chaining missions together with briefings and unlocks.

How many factions are there?

Currently there is one playable faction with thirteen unit types. Additional factions are being considered for the future.

What are the system requirements?

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 / macOS 12 / Ubuntu 20.04
  • CPU: Intel i5 or equivalent
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • GPU: Integrated graphics (Intel HD 4000+)
  • Storage: 500 MB

Recommended:
