Plaguebearer

The Plaguebearer is a hooded fold soaked in corrosive pitch. It lobs long-range poison planes that slow their mark, and can unleash a spreading Pestilence. The Plaguebearer requires a Printworks.

Abilities

  • Pestilence — Click a spot within reach (cast reach ~8): a black plague blooms, dealing 2 damage/sec for 40 seconds. It spreads on contact to nearby folds, hopping across team lines — it rampages through the target’s army but will just as readily jump to your own troops if they touch an infected fold, because a disease ignores allegiance. It never crosses between air and ground (an infected flier won’t infect ground units and vice-versa), so drop the bloom directly under fliers to catch them. It infects folds only, never buildings. A fold that survives or recovers from a bout is immune to reinfection for 2 minutes. Cooldown: 45s. Range: 10.

Strategy

Plaguebearers are area-denial specialists with punishing range. Their poison planes slow targets, letting your army catch fleeing enemies, while Pestilence turns a choke point or clustered group into a spreading hazard. Pestilence is double-edged now — because it hops across team lines on contact, keep your own troops clear of infected enemies or the plague will chew through your army too. They are slow and fragile, so screen them with a front line and keep them well behind it.
